Weddings today come with so much more options than before. Unlike in the past where weddings had strict codes and rules to be followed, getting married today opens up a wide range of possibilities - and choices which you need to decide on. When it comes to flowers, you can choose between traditional or silk wedding flowers. Here are some of the things to consider before you make your decision.

Price

Price is a major consideration for most weddings today. A wedding is more than just vows and some afterwards. You need to ensure that there are wedding videographers, a great wedding and reception venue, a gown, catering services, and many other details. Because of the many financial responsibilities that need to be taken care of when planning a wedding, you should choose wedding flowers that will work well with the budget that you have. Most weddings are literally littered with flowers. The flower arrangements for the wedding are one of the most expensive that you will have to deal with. Using fresh flowers or silk flowers can be equally expensive, depending on how you use them and what type. Some silk flowers are created by specialists who will add minute details and even scents that can challenge even a real flower. Others, however, will offer silk flowers for rent, which is much cheaper. Some types of fresh flowers, on the other hand, can be very expensive especially when exported from other areas.

Endurance

How long the flowers will last should be taken into account as well. If you are conducting a summer wedding in particularly warm areas, fresh flowers can wilt within a few hours. Even when the stems are attached to plant sponges, the actual petals can become dull by the time the sun rises up to noon. In cold climate weddings, flowers will last more. However, many cold climates do not permit the growth of flowers, which will require you to ship imported flowers. This can be very expensive. Silk flowers, on the other hand, will not wilt.

For some, however, there are still some things which a silk flower cannot replicate. Even the most detailed silk flower does not have the texture of real flowers, and does not have the scent which plenty of couples can remember long after their wedding day. On the other hand, silk flowers can be stored as relics of the wedding itself. With the budget, design, and endurance in mind, however, you should be able to pick flowers that will suit your wedding perfectly.
